Tree Removal

Tree Removal

Please file an approval form with the ACC

ACC approval is required for the removal of any tree from an Autumn Wind property.

Emergency removal of any significant tree necessary to remedy an imminent danger does not require ACC pre-approval, however please file the ACC approval form after the emergency tree removal. [“Imminent danger” means a condition which could cause serious or life-threatening injury or death at any time.]

For all other tree removal, please let the ACC know by filing an ACC approval form, and working with the ACC before removing the tree.  On the ACC approval form, please let us know:

  • Is the tree healthy?
  • Is the tree hazardous?
  • Is the tree Significant?   A Significant Tree is a coniferous tree with a diameter of eight (8) inches or more DBH or a deciduous tree with a diameter of twelve (12) inches or more DBH that is noninvasive and in a healthy condition. [DBH: tree size is measured in Diameter at Breast Height (4.5′ off the ground) – standard forestry methodology for measuring tree size]
  • Describe which tree it is that you want to remove.  Where it is on your property?  What it looks like? It would be super helpful to have rough diagram or a photo showing the location of the tree
  • Why do you wish to remove the tree?
  • If you are requesting removal of a tree because it is either unhealthy or hazardous, the ACC would like  you to provide a professional evaluation prepared by a Certified Arborist
